More Britons looking for keenly-priced Austria ski homes
2015-11-17The value of Austria’s ski properties have triggered growing interest from savvy UK buyers, who find it difficult to buy a second home in Austria unless it is in a resort, according to the latest Alpine Property Market 2015/16 from top international agent, Savills.
Austria’s strong domestic economy and record low interest rates have resulted in a national house price growth of 41% since 2008 compared to falls of 0.9% in France over the same period, says the Spotlight Report.
Branson Atterbury, Marketing Director at Kristall Spaces, says, “We have seen a 22% increase in Brits looking for property in Austria this year driven by reasonable prices and the strong euro/pound exchange rate, which means buyers are now able to save up to £20,000 when purchasing a property priced at €400,000.”
Anton. The 28 furnished apartments are surrounded by alpine meadows and provide a ski-out location, near the Nassereinbahn ski lift. Prices start at €635,500 for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a large balcony. Completion date is planned for the 2016/2017 ski season.

The apartment comes with an on-site concierge and a fully managed rental programme from the experienced ski holiday specialist, MW Hotel & Resorts, is included.
The second development is 2020 Residences, at Kühtai. Prices at the 16 apartment development start at just €213,500 for a one-bedroom apartment, €275,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and €398,000 for a three bedroom apartment.

For centuries, Kühtai was the preferred hunting estate of the Habsburgs and today Christian Count Stolberg (great-grandson of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria) runs the neighbouring Jagdschloss Hotel.
