The heat in the auction market remains strong
2015-08-17AUCTION clearance rates remain strong as the last few weeks of winter wind up.
According to CoreLogic RP Data figures the preliminary clearance rate for the combined capital cities the past week was down slightly but still a solid 76.9 per cent.
There were 2103 capital city auctions held during the past week.
Sydney had the strongest result again with a clearance rate of 80.3 per cent which is.
4.1 percentage points higher than one year ago.
It is down on last week’s results but better than this time last year.
Brisbane has continued to return solid results with a preliminary clearance rate last week of 60.2 per cent. At the same time last year the clearance rate was only 50 per cent.
In Adelaide the preliminary clearance rate was 71.2 per cent down from last week’s 77.4 per cent.
There were five auction results reported in Tasmania with three sales.
Rocky Bartolotto of Property Auction Services said in New South Wales his team handled some good auctions.
And he said looking ahead bookings for auctions in September and October were looking very strong.
