Revealed - the best areas to invest in property in 2023

New research by money.co.uk recently revealed the best areas to invest in the UK. The results were based on average rental yields in each UK authority. 

By analysing the average house price and rent prices in each UK authority over the last year, the average rental yields were calculated.

Blackpool

According to the data from money.co.uk is at the top of the list. 

Taking into account both the average property value and the average rent paid, on the Lancashire coast properties are priced around £140,108 while the rent prices total £550. That makes average rent prices 0.393% of average house prices in the area.

Barrow-in-Furness

In second place is Barrow-in-Furness, home to the country’s biggest employing shipyard. The coastal town in the North West is home to average property price in Barrow costing £141,360, with an average rental price of £550. That means rent is around 0.389% of house prices.

Burnley

In third place is Burnley, known for having a strong manufacturing sector, since the Industrial Revolution. The location strikes the right balance among residents as it is near the Lancashire countryside and cities like Manchester. With house prices costing just £121,409 it is described as having the lowest house prices in the whole country. Average rents are also slightly lower compared to Barrow-in-Furness and Blackpool at £450. The town has a strong manufacturing sector, as it has since the Industrial Revolution, and is located near both
