Pensioners "earn" £7k a year from their home
2018-06-04
The average over-65 homeowner has “earned”
£159,000 from their property - the equivalent to making £7,000 annually over the
23 years that pensioners have typically owned their
home for.
Home owning pensioners in London are the biggest winners, according to over-55s financial specialist Key Retirement. Their homes have soared in value by £394,944 or £14,257 annually, over an average 27-year timespan.
Meanwhile, over 65s in the South East are more than
£230,000 better off from buying a home, while those in East Anglia have seen
gains of £206,000.
